Shine

With all that is going on in our world, I simply want to speak life, hope, and encouragement over you this week. If you are reading this later, we are three months into Covid-19. Just as we thought that life was getting back to “normal”, our numbers are spiking with people being affected in Northwest Arkansas. The nation is tearing itself apart over racism and it’s an election year so opinions are LOUD. Social media is an unhealthy place to spend too much time right now.

I want to encourage you to rest. Take a breath. Put your phone down and go on a walk or watch a movie that makes you laugh. We have to keep ourselves and our families healthy. There is so much temptation to see who said what every hour of the day. Slow down. Breathe.

We get to choose which voices we listen to. I sincerely thank you for choosing to listen here. It is my hope that you never leave Choosing Trust feeling torn down. I will absolutely challenge you, but hopefully accomplish that by building you up and encouraging you along the way. Here’s what I am speaking over you:

You are worthy.

God adores you.

He created you on purpose, with a purpose, for such a time as this.

He intentionally placed you on the earth right now.

He has an assignment for you.

He longs to spend time with you.

You are the light of His life.

It brings God joy to see you enjoying your life.

You are strong and capable.

You carry the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

The enemy trembles when you speak up for what is right.

God is powerful inside of you.

You haven’t made too many mistakes to be used by Him.

He is gently guiding you.

He is using everything for His glory, even the hard parts of your life.

God has plans for you that are greater than you can imagine.

You are free. FREE.

Chains do not weigh you down.

You are not worried about pleasing men – only God.

God is protecting you so you need not fear.

You are a catalyst and a change agent.

Your life is an example that points other people to Christ.

You shame the kingdom of darkness because you are the light of the world.

“We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!” (Ephesians 2:10 TPT).

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope,” (Jeremiah 29:11 TLB).

I know things are crazy and dark right now. We  have to trust that we were made for this. We are the light and hope of the world, Church. When I was a freshman in college, I saw a vision of the United States. She was covered in darkness and hopelessness. Everyone was bent over with their faces on the ground in despair. Then, all of a sudden, a huge, beaming light shown out of Washington DC and caught everyone’s attention from all over the country. Each person stood and raised their hands in surrender to God. I have been praying over that vision for 15 years. I believe we are currently living in the darkness that I saw. All we have to do is turn on the light. The world is watching. May our hearts sense the urgency of this hour and be moved in compassion.

You are the world’s light—a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father,” (Matthew 5:14-16 TLB).

Live a cheerful life, without complaining or division among yourselves. For then you will be seen as innocent, faultless, and pure children of God, even though you live in the midst of a brutal and perverse culture. For you will appear among them as shining lights in the universe, offering them the words of eternal life,” (Philippians 2:14-16 TPT).

For God, who said, “Let brilliant light shine out of darkness,” is the one who has cascaded his light into us—the brilliant dawning light of the glorious knowledge of God as we gaze into the face of Jesus Christ,” (2 Corinthians 4:6 TPT).

“Then the godly shall shine as the sun in their Father’s Kingdom,” (Matthew 13:43 TLB).

We are made to shine! I’m praying strength, peace, and JOY over you. I am thankful for who you are. You are growing and giving, listening and learning. You are changing the world.

Love,

Tif
